Detailed Job Description

Responsible for identifying, planning, implementing and the ongoing monitoring of quality improvement initiatives and also working to identify and communicate the clinical needs of EMR to the vendor and determine the most effective use of the EMR for clinical staff.

Additional Department Summary:

He/she will work directly with the Medical Director, Billing Manager, and IT Director to identify Quality Indicators and standards through our accreditation agency (AAAHC) to ensure compliance with high standards of performance. In the area of Health Informatics responsibilities, this individual will be in charge of oversight and implementation of training of new and current employees that will use the SHC's electronic medical record system (EMR) and working in collaboration with the SHC EMR System Supervisor and SHC IT Director. This individual will also determine the potential for new enhancements and additional software in our clinical environment. The individual will supervise users in the training and adoption of software updates in the clinical area and serve as representative to the vendor in annual training for the clinical applications. To a lesser degree this individual will work in the clinic to maintain clinical skills and to ensure strongest application of QI opportunities for the benefit of clinical operations.

Required Minimum Qualifications

RN with current active Alabama Nursing License and two (2) years of experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Experience in Quality Improvement and support in health informatics in a clinical setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

- BS or higher degree in nursing or related area. 3 or more years in Quality Improvement; 3 or more years of experience in Health Informatics; Direct Experience in assisting or leading activities related to accreditation (Joint Commission) and experience in setting up QI teams and activities. 58 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 37835.16 Midpoint - $ 54870.36
