Duties & Responsibilities:The Institutional Research Director reports to the Senior Director of Institutional Research, Planning and Grants. This position manages and assesses the quality of activities within the College and as requested to contribute to national, regional, and professional accreditation programs and grant and strategic planning activities. Works with committees, deans and others to develop data for assessing academic programs and student learning, retention, and graduation results. Supports a culture of assessment and application of data for program and institutional planning for units of the College. Works with various teams within units of the College in developing enhancement plans and strategies. Facilitates implementation of Institutional Research Board reviews and the administration of local and national assessment instruments. Provides monthly updates to the executive leadership on status of required reporting and data analysis activities. The director is responsible for the supervision of two research analysts and one research specialist. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Master’s degree in Social Science, Statistics or related field from an accredited college or university, with five or more years of comparable professional experience is required. The successful candidate must demonstrate ability to collect, analyze and interpret quantitative and qualitative data analyses (research design, statistical methods, visual displays of data, interpretation of results).
Experience with SAS or other data analysis software and experience with higher education administrative systems, (preferably Datatel), Colleague is required. Must have experience in managing data and data systems that support reporting and decision-making, including the ability to create and maintain complex databases. Excellent oral, written, interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
plus demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to function effectively in a high-energy environment is critical. The successful candidate should have experience using reporting tools and business intelligence software in an enterprise data warehouse environment and advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite applications. Knowledge of Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) is preferred.The successful individual will have a thorough understanding of and commitment to the community college mission. Evidence of effective working relationships with local, state and federal agencies, other colleges and faculty and staff.
Starting Salary: $70,000 - $75,000
