The Department of Spanish at The College of Wooster invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August, 2016. Field: 20th and 21st century Latin American Literatures and Cultures (area of specialization open). Duties will include teaching courses in language, literature, and culture; supervising senior independent studies; and occasionally teaching in interdepartmental programs such as First Year Seminar or an interdisciplinary program related to the applicant’s area of specialization. The successful candidate must show a strong commitment to dynamic teaching in a liberal arts environment, a willingness to teach outside of his or her area of specialization, and a desire to contribute to the culture of the department by participating in, or planning, student-centered activities. Teaching load is 5.5 courses per year (averaged over 3 years). Ph.D. in Spanish and near native fluency in Spanish and English required. Scholarly activity and service to the department and college expected.
