Detailed Job Description
The Office Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient day-to-day operations of the administrative function of the Office of Human Resources. In addition, the Office Manager is responsible for providing direct administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources staff; and may be responsible for assigning tasks to temporary staff assigned to the office.
High School diploma or equivalent with additional administrative course work/certification required.
Three to five years of progressively responsible administrative, secretarial or clerical experience
Experience in Human Resources administration preferred.
High level of proficiency in all Microsoft office suite applications (including mail merge and forms) required.
High level of proficiency with Colleague or a similar administrative software system.
Familiarity with HR systems such as applicant tracking, performance management, compensation, etc.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, editing and proofreading skills required.
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision and with attention to accuracy, details and deadlines.
Excellent customer service, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with applicants, administrators, faculty, staff and the public.
