Under the direction of the Associate Vice President, the Program Coordinator – Student Leave of Absence coordinates all activities of the Student Leave of Absence Program; reviews and determines student eligibility; works toward student issues and individualizing a plan for each student before their leave begins; and, continues communication until they re-register for classes upon their return.
Graduation from an accredited institution with an bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or a combination of education and experience totaling four years.
Knowledge of financial aid regulations and policies.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Demonstrated interpersonal problem-solving, decision-making, and public relations skills, sufficient to work with and relate to a diverse population.
Skills in program maintenance and measurement.
Skills in database management.
Skills in the use of computers and computer applications (i.e. spreadsheet, database, word processing, presentation etc.)
Ability to multitask, follow directions and work with little to no supervision.
