The vice president reports directly to the president and is a member of the President’s Cabinet. This position is responsible for planning, directing, and implementing a comprehensive institutional advancement program. Because the University is funded through private donations from individuals, foundations, and corporations, as well as gifts-in-kind, this position will be responsible and accountable for establishing a sustainable and scalable development program.
The candidate should have a proven track record of searching for and securing major gifts. The vice president will manage and oversee day-to-day operations of the fund-raising, prospect research, alumni and parent relations, and special events functions. At a minimum, the successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and seven years of progressively responsible fund-raising experience. This candidate must be capable of developing and implementing clear goals and be a strategic leader who is capable of working independently as well as on a team. Experience working in higher education and strong supervisory skills preferred.
