Quinnipiac University invites applications for the position of Associate Director of Development for Parents and Families.  The Associate Director will be responsible for identifying and securing major gifts of $1,000-$5,000 for Quinnipiac University from parents and families, alumni and friends. Manages the event coordination of parent events and the website.  Will work closely the senior gift program, student alumni association as well as the young alumni development council.

Responsibilities

Develops and executes prospect management plans, and solicitation strategies; draft proposals, and engages in ongoing cultivation of and correspondence with potential parent donors to Quinnipiac University with the ability to make $1,000 to $5,000 gifts.

Manages a portfolio of approximately 120 parent, grandparent, past parent and faculty/staff parent prospects and donors to Quinnipiac University. Conduct 15-20 personal face to face visits monthly to qualify, engage, solicit and steward the University major donors and prospects.

Coordinates the faculty/staff parent campaign with the director of the annual fund.

Collaborates with the parents and families’ team and other university officials around prospects, Charter Oak /Parent Leadership Gift Society events, parents’ council meetings and all development efforts for the Quinnipiac University.

Manage a minimum of 15 welcome receptions to continue to promote community within the parent association.

Coordinates, with public affairs, the university parents’ association website to insure updated and accurate information for current parents.

Produces the university parent guide to insure communication with freshman families.  Secures advertising gifts from local restaurants, deli’s, hotels and other resources in the Greater New Haven area to make the production at no cost.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants

Bachelor's degree required.

 

Master's degree preferred.

Knowledge and proven history of gaining philanthropic support and financial commitments from others.

Skill in fiscal management.

Ability to travel locally and nationally as necessary.
