Detailed Job Description

American International College has a position available as Tutor for our Supportive Learning Services program. The individual will provide 1:1 tutorial for college students with learning disabilities and occasionally, fills in for proctoring of extended time exams. This position requires the candidate to specialize in science and mathematics.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Master's Degree is required.

  • Required Field of Expertise in education, psychology or related field.

  • Knowledge about learning disabilities and their impact on the higher education classroom environment.

  • Application of learning strategies and ability to implement them according to individualized student learning needs.

  • Knowledge about extended time exam accommodations.

  • Maintains confidentiality and discretion.

  • Specialization in science and mathematics is required.
