Detailed Job Description

In this new role, the Division Assistant will gather, create, post and maintain a wide variety of web and print materials; plan, organize and complete logistical arrangements for a variety of events and activities; and serve as a resource for general inquires and questions for the Division of Liberal Arts, which consists of the Dean's office and three departments, with 30 full-time faculty, 85-100 adjunct faculty, and a diverse curriculum that seeks to serve the needs of the full breadth of a diverse undergraduate population at RISD.  


Associate's degree required, bachelor's degree desirable.

At least one year of administrative support experience, preferably in an academic environment.

Knowledge and skill using PC and Mac computer software including: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat Pro; Google Docs; Datatel Colleague; Dropbox; and WordPress.

Proven problem solver with resourceful approach; demonstrated initiative, excellent interpersonal skills; attention to detail; basic math skills; strong oral and written communication skills; ability to multitask; and work in a fast paced environment.

Ability to work and collaborate in a diverse multicultural and inclusive setting.
