Detailed Job Description

The Academic Advisor I is an entry level advising position. Under direct supervision, the Advisor I will be engaged in academic advising activities that support UA at the institution or college level.

Additional Department Summary:

This position advises undergraduate students with academic schedules, registration, and degree progress issues. Meets with prospective students and parents providing guidance and information on the college, its majors, campus life, student involvement, etc. Provides assistance with new student orientation. Represents the college at recruiting events. Oversees various programs and activities for undergraduate students in the college and teaches a course geared toward freshmen in the college.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and some relevant experience. Student or Graduate Assistant, Intern, or student oriented experience will be considered.

Skills and Knowledge:

Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills (written and oral). Strong computer skills and knowledge. 56 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 29120.04 Midpoint - $ 40767.96
