Job Summary

The Department of English at Skidmore College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in modern and contemporary drama. Skidmore seeks to attract an academically and culturally diverse faculty, especially those who can contribute to the growing diversity and excellence of the community through their teaching, scholarship, and service. The successful candidate will also teach an introductory survey of dramatic literature and occasionally an introduction to Shakespeare. Individuals from underrepresented groups, or who have experience teaching students from diverse backgrounds, are encouraged to apply. The 3/2 teaching load includes one writing-intensive course each semester and periodic participation in Skidmore's First Year Experience program. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in teaching and scholarship, as well as a strong commitment to undergraduate education at a liberal arts college.

PH.D. required at time of employment.
