The Graduate Writing Mentor for the Master of Education program at UVU is responsible for assisting graduate students with the written work for their final project. Writing Mentors help master’s students, in person, by phone, or online, to read and revise their work to meet the standards of academic writing that are required at the graduate level. Writing Mentors assist students with the conventions and organization of written language and the professional (APA) formatting necessary for the successful completion of the culminating project for the MEd program.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a associate’s degree plus two years of related editorial experience OR a combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling four years.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a master’s degree in education or English, or in a related field, OR any combination of relevant education and experience totaling 6 year(s).
Solid understanding of the conventions of academic writing (grammar, syntax, structure) and APA formatting.
Editing skills for academic writing and APA format.
Works with students in a way that guides and informs their academic writing.
