Continuing Education and Student Services

To provide leadership for and coordination of the Continuing Education activities, operations, and programs of Saint Leo University and supervises the Center Directors within a specific region

Basic Function:

Advocacy with University Offices

  • Maintain communication with Academic Affairs regarding curricular issues and other policies & procedures.
  • Monitor academic program reviews as regards to the impact of proposed changes to education centers.
  • Liaison with University SACSCOC office.
  • Follow-up on individual faculty clearances if problems occur during process.
  • Work with University offices in support of providing education center students with required support services.

Institutional and Partnership Agreements

  • Consult with academic departments.
  • Prepare and maintain articulation agreements, corporate agreements, MOUs, state articulation re-authorizations; and then forward final copies to Registrar.
  • Monitor and update education provider agreement repository on Intranet.
  • Contribute to preparation of NPEC, SCHEV, MIVER, and certifications.
  • Maintain historical files.

Operational Projects

  • Keep continuing education website up to date to make it easier to navigate.
  • Coordinate updates of CE Student Handbook, New Student Orientation power point, Center Operational Manual, Academic Advisor Manual, CE Procedural Manual, and University Catalog.
  • Develop staff training program for new employees, directors, and academic advisors through Professional Development Center.
  • Maintain Academic Advisor website.
  • Update New Center Timeline, CE Strategic Plan, and Education Center Audit Checklist.
    **Special projects as assigned by Vice President of Continuing Education and Student Services.

Policies and Procedures

  • Monitor compliance with 25% rule for on-ground courses and terminally degreed faculty.
  • Review Senior Exit survey data and follow-up with AVPs and education centers.
  • Review annual retention rates and follow-up with AVPs and education centers.
  • Review annual graduation rates and follow-up with AVPs and education centers.
  • Monitor education center compliance with Academic Sanction policy.

Public Relations

  • Represent the institution at appropriate local, state, regional, and national functions and/or conferences.

Standing University Committee Membership

  • Undergraduate Curriculum Committee
  • University Exploration Advisor Board Committee
  • Academic Review Program Committee

Supervision of directors of education centers and offices in the Tampa Region and Director of Synchronous Learning Program

Other Duties as Assigned

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

•Master’s degree and five years of management experience required
•Ability to work well with people
•Excellent skills for dealing with the external/internal customer
•Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills
•Ability to plan and organize work
•Computer literate and Colleague experience preferred

Minimum Qualifications:

•Master’s degree and five years of management experience required

Preferred Qualifications:

•Doctorate in Higher Education Administration
•10 years of management experience
•Experience in higher education administration preferred
•Experience with continuing education preferred
•Experience with Saint Leo University preferred
