Department of Exercise Science, full-time tenure-line position; begins Fall 2016
The department seeks a candidate with expertise in biomechanics, exercise physiology, or nutrition to teach advanced biomechanics, either nutrition or exercise physiology, an introductory research course, and elective(s) in the candidate’s area of expertise. Demonstrated experience teaching human anatomy and physiology using human cadavers also is desirable. The standard teaching assignment is three courses per semester and includes a combination of lectures and labs. The faculty member is expected to maintain an active research program utilizing human models and that provides opportunities for undergraduate student research. The Department of Exercise Science has teaching labs for Human Physiology, Motion Analysis/Biomechanics, as well as shared use of a Research (wet) lab and an animal housing facility. Other duties include continuation of professional development, advising students, and participation in departmental and University governance.
Ph.D. in Exercise Science or related field (ABD considered). The department is open to content area of expertise, however, seeks a candidate capable of teaching biomechanics. Experience teaching either human anatomy and/or physiology, exercise physiology, or nutrition is desirable.
