Latin American archaeologist with an on-going field research project in Mesoamerica or Andean South America. Topical specialization is open, but it should complement rather than duplicate what already exists on our faculty. Teaching responsibilities include specific core undergraduate and graduate level classes and courses of own development.
The Department of Anthropology of The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in Latin American archaeology to begin August, 2016. Ph.D. is required at the time of appointment. We seek an anthropological archaeologist who can direct graduate–level field research, chair M.A. theses and Ph.D. dissertations, and teach graduate–level research methods. The proposed archaeology hire will strengthen the department’s research emphasis on the “Archaeology of Complex Societies of the Americas.” We seek an archaeologist with an on-going field research project in Mesoamerica or Andean South America. The successful applicant will also contribute to the newly created Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies Program and Minor (LACLS) in the College of Arts and Sciences.
