Detailed Job Description

As a member of the Corporate Relations team, coordinate the development and implementation of fundraising activities to meet the goals of CR. Develop/edit written proposals and solicit gifts/grants from corporations in collaboration with university faculty and staff, foster corporate relationships, identify and research corporate prospects for major research projects and collaborations, track reporting requirements, manage annual fundraising and special events, and provide related support functions. . Represent the university to internal and external constituents. This position must exercise independent judgment and initiative in performing these duties as well as demonstrate a high level of confidentiality.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience, which includes six (6) months of full-time experience in marketing, gift solicitation or public contact work with evidence of ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively orally and in writing and organize and execute assignments. A Master’s degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in higher education or similar complex organization.

Experience working under pressure, meeting project deadlines and balancing multiple projects and priorities for various people.

Previous coordination and project management responsibilities, including demonstrated ability to create, initiate, strategize and organize activities, events or programs.

Monthly Salary

Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Job Duties

-Develop, manage, and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies for corporate giving and sponsorship.
-Proactively seek opportunities to explore partnership opportunities with identified corporations.
-Write reports, profiles, and proposals in support of fundraising objectives.
-Apply creativity to the cultivation and stewardship of gifts to the University; coordinate these activities.
-Accurately document fundraising activity through donor database; maintain confidentiality of donor information.
-Work directly with Foundation Relations, University and development staff to implement corporate partnership agreements.

Strategy and Prospect Management
-Identify corporate prospects and conduct research to determine interest and giving potential.
-Prepare reports on corporate programs.
-Research and develop corporate strategy materials.
-Meet with WSU faculty and researchers; research and identify areas for collaboration between university and corporations.

External Relations
-Represent the University to internal and external constituents.
-Work closely with Foundation Relations, WSU Foundation, and Office of Economic Development staff to ensure clear lines of communication and effective coordination.

Administrative Support
-Provide administrative support.
-Organize and attend events, determining the appropriate faculty and staff to represent the university

-Perform other duties as assigned.
