Under general direction, coordinates tutoring at target middle schools to provide sufficient academic support; assesses participants’ needs; provides personal, academic, and career services assistance; conducts workshops; assists with recruitment and academic monitoring.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Hires, trains, places, supervises, and evaluates tutors at target middle schools during the academic year; coordinates participants’ schedules.

Assesses program participants’ personal, academic, and career strengths and weaknesses to provide needed assistance; conducts workshops; presents study skills.

Assists with the continuous recruitment and selection of program participants; contributes to the development of individual education plans (IEP) for participants; provides academic counseling.

Monitors academic progress through meetings with participants, teachers, and tutors; designs and implements an evaluation plan for the tutoring and mentoring portions of the project.

Performs other duties as assigned.
