Demonstration Kitchen Instructor provides a learning experience through experiential instruction and class curriculum within the Campus Recreation & Wellness Department. This role is responsible for an exceptional experience for the campus and community population by creating a fun, interactive learning environment that inspires students to learn to cook.
High school diploma or equivalent plus any special certifications and/or training required in field of specialty.
Food Handlers Permit Required.
Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree in the subject matter or a closely related field or two years of experience teaching in a closely related profession.
Knowledge of instructional strategies, and techniques based curriculum development. Knowledge food production.
Knowledge of current trends in cooking, sanitation and safety in food preparation.
Exceptional verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Skill in class management and motivation for a variety of skill levels.
Skill teaching in a post-secondary academic environment.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to create menus and recipes for a diverse campus and community population.
