Detailed Job Description

Responsible for review of public records requests; determine permissible scope of disclosure within requirements of state law; obtain and prepare documents for disclosure; coordinate disclosure process; maintain files of public records requests; train university personnel regarding public records law; assist with other functions of University Communications. This position supervises program assistants, public records.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Two (2) years experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, or completion of an accredited paralegal or legal assistant training program.

Experience working in a higher education environment.

Demonstrated success in organizing and coordinating programs.

Demonstrated advanced proficiency in the use of computer and software applications, and the demonstrated ability to apply those skills to improve office efficiency.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with internal and external constituents.
