Detailed Job Description

The Accounts Payable Analyst administers, analyzes, and audits RISD's Purchasing Card (P-Card) program, system(s) and processes. In addition, the role is responsible for managing and maintaining existing vendor relationships and data and oversee the successful onboarding and education of new vendors. Also, analyze, research and resolve a wide array of Accounts Payable inquiries, forecasts and modeling requests. The AP Analyst designs and generates various ad-hoc and standardized reports and compile necessary information to help complete annual tax reporting and month or year-end close. All of this is done while ensuring timely and accurate payment of services for the RISD Community.  


Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience required

Minimum of two years of accounts payable experience

Prior successful experience managing a Purchasing Card program required

Demonstrated ability to maintain, interpret and process T&E reimbursements in accordance with policies and procedures

Prior experience with electronic invoicing systems and payment tools strongly desired

Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products required

Demonstrated computer skills and experience with computer data bases required

Demonstrated experience with 990, 1099 and 1042 reporting

Attention to detail and accuracy

Strong organizational and prioritization skills

Problem solving and analytical ability

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with manager and others

Proven ability to interact with members of the community representing diverse backgrounds and interests

Ability to work and collaborate in a diverse, multicultural and inclusive setting
