Job Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership to the administrative departments of the College, including Finance and Business Services (which includes Treasury Management, Supplier Managed Services, Business Continuity, and Accounting and Budgeting), Public Safety and Security Services, Information Technology Services, Internal Audit, Plant Operations and Facilities Development and Operations.

Participate in the College’s executive leadership teams, working closely with the President’s Office, the four Campus Presidents, the Executive Vice President of Workforce, Community and Economic Development and the Executive Vice President of Access, Learning and Success/Provost.

Responsible for the preparation and management of the College’s $300 million annual budget, including budget development, developing long term financial plans, implementing fiscal stewardship policies, creating associated budget documents, and presenting the annual budget for approval to the Board of Trustees of the College.

Lead long term strategic divisional planning in Administration and Finance that aligns with the College’s strategic plan.

Provide strategic leadership of the College through the implementation of priorities and goals established by the Board of Trustees.

Serve as the lead administrative liaison to the college Board of Trustees, specifically its Management Committee, Investment Committee and Audit Committee, as well as leading the annual presentation of the College budget to the Committee of the Whole of the Board.

Represent the College at local and national events and conferences, both in a financial capacity and community college educational role.

Advocate on the College’s behalf through interviews, speeches, lobbying and local public membership organizations.

Represent the College’s best interests in federal, state and local legislative matters that relate to higher education, with a focus on state funding issues and state policy implementation.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

Master’s degree with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field

Active Certification as a Public Accountant (CPA), or as a Certified Managed Accountant (CMA), or an equivalent professional certification

Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated successful fiscal and administrative senior management experience

Demonstrated record of initiative, independent judgment and outstanding performance in a large, complex service organization

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

Ability to cultivate and maintain strategic alliances with other businesses, educational institutions and the community

A vigorous and entrepreneurial spirit appropriate for an institution of higher education

Proven ability to act as a change agent and build a positive environment for change

Strong communication skills, both oral and written

Demonstrated interpersonal skills to interact effectively with varied constituencies, and to communicate complex financial and business service issues

Ability to effectively communicate, present and advocate the College’s mission and vision, both internally and externally

Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population

Work Schedule

Standard College hours of operation, Monday through Friday 8:30am –
5:00pm. Evenings and weekends based on College needs.
