Detailed Job Description

The Assistant Director of Financial Aid will report directly to the Director of Financial Aid. We are hiring a financial aid counselor who reviews aid applications using both Federal and Institutional methodology and provides proactive customer service to students and families throughout the student's enrollment at Bentley. Also reviews applications for undergraduate admission. Responsible for administration of Federal Pell Grants and state scholarships.  

Additional Description of Duties:

Manage a caseload of approximately 15-20% of financial aid applicants in all aspects of financial aid including initial inquiries, application review, awarding, appeal, counseling, etc.

Process all federal Pell Grants, insuring compliance with federal regulations.

Coordinate awarding of several state scholarship programs, insuring compliance with Bentley awarding policies and state regulations.

Reviews applications for undergraduate admission as directed to meet departmental and divisional weekly goals. Provides feedback on candidates for admission and the application review process.

Assists in various enrollment management activities, including traveling to local recruitment events, and representing the financial assistance office at various admission functions.

May also be asked to manage additional financial aid programs for the office, depending on experience of the successful applicant.  

Position Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required and at least one year of experience in the administration of financial aid in a higher education environment is preferred. Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including excellent attention to detail. Must be comfortable with computer technology and web-based applications.
