The primary responsibility of the position will be to teach graduate level online courses in the Teacher Leadership program. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to: contribute to knowledge creation in the field of teacher leadership through scholarship, publications, and grants; advise candidates regarding program requirements and professional career advancement; work collaboratively with members of the education community such as partner school districts of the School of Education; actively participate in service activities at the school and university level; and contribute to program and curriculum development within the School of Education. The position may also include teaching responsibilities in the Master of Arts in Teaching program.
Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants:
The successful candidate will hold an earned doctorate in Instructional Leadership, Educational Leadership, or related field by the time of appointment with expertise in at least two of the following areas:
school culture, school improvement, professional development, and educational program evaluation. The successful candidate will provide strong evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship appropriate for initial placement at rank of assistant professor. Finally, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the skills or capacity to teach online courses, and bring at least five years successful k-12 teaching experience to the position.
Preference will be given to candidates who provide evidence of teacher leadership experience in k-12 school settings, scholarly work in the field of teacher leadership, developed and/or taught online graduate courses, and a record of excellent teaching at the graduate level.
