Under general supervision, performs secretarial duties, which include work requiring knowledge of specialized medical/scientific terminology; performs general secretarial duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma; supplemented with two (2) years secretarial experience which includes one (1) year using medical/scientific terminology.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Types manuscripts, abstracts, or letters from straight draft; performs secretarial duties requiring knowledge of specialized medical/scientific terminology; processes billing sheets.

Processes various materials, composes and types routine correspondence, memos, letters, reports, etc.; schedules appointments and arranges meetings; schedules tests, surgeries, procedures and patient consultations; may perform pre-admission certification; prepares and assembles conference and meeting materials.

Answers phone; refers, routes, or places calls; files correspondence and records; maintains inventory; responds to requests for information; receives, sorts, and distributes mail; may maintain supervisor’s calendar; pull data for offsite clinics.

Performs other duties as assigned.
