Job Summary: Under general supervision, mentors undergraduate students to become better writers and communicators; fosters a culture of writing on campus; leads writing group programs; conducts individual consultations with writers in person and online; works with students in the various disciplines on writing projects, multimedia projects, and oral presentations.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; supplemented with one (1) year of related work experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Meets with students for one-on-one writing consultations, both in-person and online.

Acts as a mentor or mentee in University Writing Service’s Mentor Program.

Promotes University Writing Services to students, faculty and other members of the SLU community.

Assists in general department initiatives related to University Writing Services.

Formally meets with the Director of University Writing Services at the end of the Spring semester for a performance evaluation.
