Under administrative direction, is responsible for the marketing of the Athletics department; directs and implements the strategic plan for marketing and promotions, group sales, community outreach, social media and student spirit groups.
Knowledge of Division I athletics, NCAA rules and regulations
Knowledge of television and radio agreements and terminology
Knowledge of game and special event management
Experience in graphic design, communications and marketing.
Proficiency in Social Platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and instagram.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor’s degree in related field, with master’s degree preferred; supplemented with five (5) years of related experience in marketing sports activities
Develop, implement and execute a comprehensive marketing and ticket sales plan for all assigned sports, which includes outlining promotions and ticket sales strategies, with an emphasis on increasing revenue and attendance while enhancing in-venue promotions to engage both existing and potential fans.
Assume overall responsibility for all in-game marketing and promotions associated with assigned home athletic events, to include but not limited to: the production of run of show time lines and public address scripts, operation and production of video boards, organization of in-venue music and time-out coordination with band, cheer and dance, as well as activation of sponsorships.
Coordinate the development of cross channel marketing and social media campaigns; monitors social media influencers, trends, applications, tools, and emerging platforms, and make recommendations that support marketing initiatives.
Serves as department liaison with external constituents in advertising and sponsorships, as they relate to departmental radio and television affiliations.
Develop and implement an aggressive advertising plan to increase awareness for assigned sports through print and electronic media, outdoor advertising, web content, community partners, and social media platforms.
Develop new ways to promote the Saint Louis Billikens as a national brand
