Under general supervision, coordinates billing functions to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and maximum financial return; ensures Medicare billing compliance; maintains knowledge of Medicare, billing codes, rules, and regulations; audits medical documents; serves as resource to faculty and staff.

Ability to perform basic bookkeeping and compile statistics
High school diploma; supplemented with two (2) years of progressive professional billing experience. CPT (Certified Professional Coder) preferred.
Codes surgeries and Evaluation and Management services by reviewing Operative notes and other source documents and identifying or verifying the correct CPT and ICD codes; captures and generates charges for inpatient and/or outpatient visits and procedures; maintains knowledge base of correct coding practices.
Reviews reimbursement issues; resolves edits and provides documentation and guidance regarding payment and rejection denials.
Provides inservices to physicians; trains new employees; serves as resource to faculty and staff; prepares reports
Performs other duties as assigned.
