The Program Assistant is a full-time, hourly, staff position that, under general supervision, coordinates and manages administrative support for all courses offered by the Center for Interprofessional Education and Research (CIER). The Program Assistant provides general “customer service” to both students and faculty. The Program Assistant also plays the lead role in internal and external communications, website administration, social media management, and development of publications, flyers, and newsletters.
Ability to coordinate large projects and excel documents with minimal supervision
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal/human relations skills
Ability to learn and efficiently manage new technology and tools including but not limited to Blackboard, Banner Self-Service, and Internet Native Banner.
Ability to work at a fast pace and under pressure and demonstrate time management skills
Social media and website management skills are a plus
Associate’s degree supplemented with one (1) year related experience.
COURSE SUPPORT: Supports faculty and coordinates all Interprofessional Education courses. This includes course and meeting room reservations, course document preparation (assignments, syllabuses, schedules, etc.), Blackboard Learn course maintenance, grade entry and grade calculations, attendance tracking, handling general inquiries from students and faculty, and assisting class activities on special class days.
OFFICE SUPPORT: General office reception including student inquiries, answering CIER phone, managing the CIER email inbox, and greeting office visitors. First-level technical support for office technology and equipment. Supports meetings with the necessary A/V equipment, facilities/maintenance requests, and faculty support with presentations or scholarly activity.
EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS: Maintains and updates the Center for Interprofessional Education and Research website and publishes news articles relating to the Center. Drives the Center’s social media presence and supports CIER’s participation in the online “discussion” as it relates to CIER’s purpose, goals, and initiatives. Communicates with potential visitors of IPE, guests and guest speakers of IPE, and prospective students. Communicates with community clinical site partners, St. Louis area higher education partners, and other parties to ensure successful delivery of CIER program content.
INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS: Serves as support staff for IPE teams and other groups by providing initial arrangements for meetings; records and provides minutes for meetings; provides reports for various needs, collects, scans, and prepares a database of assessment data for IPE research to assist in analysis.
