Under general supervision, performs medical administrative/secretarial support for Pediatric Gastroenterology Division. Perform administrative duties which includes maintaining confidential files, compiling information, preparing general correspondence, minutes and/or publication materials. Prepares purchasing and travel information; answers phones and responds to inquiries.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Schedule appointments for patients who require an urgent appointment. Must have working knowledge of disorders to determine which diagnosis requires immediate attention from on-call staff. Schedule patient procedures, request results of labs done offsite.

Make travel arrangements and follow up with reimbursement expense report. Prepare purchase requests for division supplies. Renew physician licenses and credentialing.

Maintain physician calendars, make meeting and conference arrangements. Answer phones, triage calls, refer calls as necessary

Performs other duties as assigned.
