Under general supervision, is responsible for enforcing all swimming and diving policies and procedures and team rules, providing structure and preparation for all practices and meets for divers. Primary duties include practice and meet preparation as well as recruiting for members of the diving team.
Knowledge of swimming/diving concepts/strategies and NCAA rules and regulations.
Knowledge of physical conditioning techniques and weight training,
Verbal and written skills.
Ability to access athletic talent.
Ability to serve as a positive role model.
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of two years of coaching experience at the college, high school and/or club level.
Responsible for planning and conducting practice/competition activities for an NCAA Division I Diving program.
Direct individual development, training, and performance analysis.
Identify and recruit competitive student-athletes.
Foster the academic, athletic, and personal growth of student-athletes.
Provide instruction to the team by developing and clearly communicating program policies and prioritizing student-athlete’s safety.
Uphold all safety guidelines as set forth by USA Diving and the Atlantic 10 conference in all practices and meets. Compliance with the rules and regulations of Saint Louis University, the NCAA and the Atlantic 10 Conference.
Must be present at all home and away meets including the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head Swim Coach.
