Under administration direction, plans, directs, develops policies, and creates quality improvement functions; administratively responsible for multiple clinical areas and operations.

Bachelor’s degree; supplemented with (3) years of experience in clinical nursing and management; Missouri RN licensure required. May require certification in area of specialty.
Selects, orients, supervises, and evaluates supervisors and clinical nurses; establishes standards of performance and maintains an evaluation system for clinical personnel; including implementing a time system that holds staff accountable, while managing overtime and retaining proper coverage. As well as providing universal standards for performance amongst nursing staff. Assists with identifying educational needs for staff and establishes in- service/development programs; collaborates with professional and technical schools to enhance clinical education programs and maintains certifications and audits. Serves as a resource person; develops, interprets, supports and implements policies and procedures, while providing needed feedback for improvements to administration.
Facilitates communication and problem solving for departments; leads or serves on committees; serves as a liaison between the medical staff and ancillary departments. Develops priorities, goals, and action plans through clinical, cross training coverage, MDI, workflows and EPIC; develops and maintains scheduling procedures for staffing of nursing care; formulates philosophy and objectives; establishes standards of nursing care and nursing practice. Responsible for planning, preparation, utilization, evaluation, and monitoring of budget; ensuring that supplies are ordered and stocked appropriately.
Performs nursing duties including nurse case management; evaluation the nursing care given and makes recommendations to develop action plans for improvements; assists with development and implementation of service standards and patient satisfaction. Properly trains clinical staff with clear communication and instruction of the importance of each faculty member’s needs and preferences. Actively participates and coordinates staff meetings. Maintains standard nursing skills, including but not limited to, numbing, patch, and procedure setup.
Ensures departmental activities and records adhere to regulatory requirements; oversees compliance of staff to infection control practices and mandatory education requirements.
Secures patients concerns and safety respectively and accordingly. Warrants a complete understanding of SLUcare initiatives from administration.
