The Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, Metropolitan State University of Denver, is seeking applications for one tenure-track faculty position in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics beginning August 2013.
Teach 12 hours of undergraduate mathematical science courses per semester, including evenings and perhaps on-line courses using multimedia and other technologies as needed; advise students; participate in course and program development and in scholarly and professional activities; perform university and community service; perform other duties as assigned by the Chair; and work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse urban population.
Doctorate in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics completed by August 1, 2013.
The successful candidate will have strong oral and written communication skills, experience teaching mathematics at the undergraduate level with evidence of effective teaching, experience mentoring undergraduate research, knowledge of technology as it applies to mathematics courses, evidence of potential for continued scholarly activity, and experience in recruitment and/or retention of students from underrepresented groups.
