Under general direction, provides counseling, psychotherapy, consulting, and outreach services for students, faculty, and staff; coordinates testing and emergency services; provides psychological assessments.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics

Knowledge of psychotherapy and counseling psychology
Knowledge of academic and psychological testing standards and principles

Ability to conceptualize, diagnose problems, and implement treatment solutions
Ability to make accurate judgments concerning the physical, emotional, and educational welfare of students, faculty, and staff members

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate in counseling/clinical psychology, from an APA-accredited program, with APA internship in college counseling center preferred. Expertise in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: experience with diverse clientele and multicultural issues, outreach to underserved groups, PTSD, eating disorders, and crisis management.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Provides counseling and psychotherapy services to students who have a wide range of concerns; provides consulting and outreach services for staff, faculty, and student groups; supervises clinical trainees.

Participates in staff development and staff administrative decisions about policies and procedures; performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Consults and coordinates mental health crisis response in emergencies in collaboration with administrators.

Refers clients for psychological and/or educational testing to resources on campus; interprets psychological assessments.

Performs other duties as assigned.
