Under the direction of the Director of Budgets, this position performs a variety of complex duties related to the general operation and accounting responsibilities of the Budget Office. Major responsibilities include reconciliation of various contingency funds, maintenance of several budget databases, providing technical support in developing, implementing, monitoring and reporting the institution’s operating budget and responding to department questions and concerns. Conducts statistical analysis related to budgeting issues.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a related field plus one year of related experience OR a combination of relevant experience and education totaling five years.
Knowledge of accounting and budgeting practices and procedures.
Knowledge of financial planning, budgeting and statistical analysis.
Strong Excel skills.
Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel, PowerPoint, and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
Effective communication skills using business writing and ability.
Ability to navigate and input into the Banner database system is preferred.
Ability to analyze problems and recommend solutions.
Ability to provide accurate data to assist in the decision making process.
Ability to organize and coordinate information effectively.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of individuals.
Ability to plan and organize time effectively.
Ability to organize, research and analyze various types of data and information.
