Detailed Job Description

The Child Development Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of all training and technical assistance for child care providers and parents for a 12 county region, and thus requires limited travel. The individual child development specialist will assume responsibility for one of the following aspects of program operation: The Learning Center, Rolling Resource Van, conduct training workshops, Parent Resource Library, Baby TALK, and Parenting Assistance Line (PAL).

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in child development, early childhood/elementary education or Family Studies and one year of experience in Child Development, Parent Education, or direct service with families OR a Master's degree or higher in child development, early childhood/elementary education, or Family Studies. Working knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice and professionally accepted standards in programs for children and/or families. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Basic knowledge in the use of personal computers to include word processing, spreadsheets, and/or database. Ability to work well with diverse populations. Ability to travel on limited basis. Ability to work nights and weekends on a very limited basis. 56 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 29120.04 Midpoint - $ 40767.96
