Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive institutional development/advancement program and overseeing a development team focused towards the ultimate goal of significantly increasing constituent engagement and fund raising outcomes
• Provides leadership in overseeing all aspects of fundraising on behalf of the College and Foundation including identification, cultivation, solicitation, securing, reporting and compliance, and stewardship for corporations, foundations, individuals and government agencies
• Works closely with College President in all phases of his advancement and outreach activities; assists with building and nurturing long-term relationships that yield to advocacy and support
• Collaborates with College leadership to create new strategies to identify priority initiatives and case statements for support aligned with the College and Foundation missions
• Provides leadership support to Foundation Board relative to engagement, administration, management and support (strategic planning, meetings, communications, etc.)
• Engages and encourages faculty and staff to participate in supporting fundraising activities and in advocacy for the Foundation thus enhancing a College wide culture of philanthropy
• Develops and guides a high-performance and team-oriented development program to increase philanthropic revenue based upon fundraising strategies and established plans, goals, timelines, and outcomes
• Develops and implements effective internal and external messaging, methods, and approaches for communicating College and Foundation goals, and achievements, and financial needs for support of the College, Foundation and students
• Develops and plans major events, groups and activities that advance the College and Foundation in the external community
• Provides leadership for Foundation financial reporting and database management Provides leadership for the development of the Alumni Relations function
• Serves as a member of the Tri-C Foundation per Foundation regulations, President’s Cabinet, and President’s Council
• Continuously ensures positive impressions of the College and the Foundation
• Develops and manages the implementation of special projects and presentations for the College and Foundation as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
• Minimum of ten years of experience in positions of leadership and accomplishment in development, nonprofit or community engagement organizations
• Proven experience in launching and leading successful comprehensive campaigns
• Demonstrated experience hiring, training, developing, scheduling, supervising and managing the work performance of others
• Demonstrated experience forecasting, planning, maintaining, preparing, and monitoring a business area’s budget
• Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have significant, broad implications on the management and operations of a division (or equivalent business area)
• Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations

• Strong organizational, supervisory, and leadership capabilities
• Exemplary interpersonal skills are essential; ability to serve as the lead for fund raising efforts for the College and Foundation throughout the region
