The job duties of successful candidates include curriculum development; advising students; teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in software engineering; participating in the continuous teaching assessment activities of the School of EECS; effectively communicating and interacting with students; and collaborating with others within the School, the University, or other organizations.
Candidates with a PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline or with a Master’s degree and several years of teaching or industrial experience in software engineering will be given higher priority. Candidates with exceptional teaching credentials in software engineering with demonstrated ability in curriculum development, student advising, and scholarly work are sought. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience, leadership potential, industry experience/potential to foster industry partnerships, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to diversifying the student body. Candidates for the associate position will have established 5 years of experience.
The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at Washington State University (WSU) invites applications for two full-time clinical teaching faculty positions in Computer Science with teaching emphasis in software engineering. These positions are in the School’s remote program at WSU North Puget Sound, Everett, WA. Ranks (Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor) are negotiable depending on the final candidates’ credentials and experiences. Availability of these positions and final appointment are contingent on the University budget approvals by the State of Washington.
