Washington State University (WSU) is seeking to hire a strongly self-motivated, resourceful Business Operations Coordinator to join the administrative team in the Institute for Shock Physics (ISP). The Institute is an externally funded research organization that conducts a broad range of fundamental and applied research projects in the physical sciences and engineering for government agencies and private corporations, including the development of commercial applications. The Business Operations Coordinator provides direct support of day-to-day business operations for the ISP. This position requires a high level of professionalism, strong organizational skills, good judgment and discretion, and the ability to meet deadlines.
This position is a full-time, 12-month, Administrative/Professional position based in Pullman, WA. The salary will be commensurate with the responsibilities, as well as the candidate’s experience. Other benefits include health/dental insurance, vacation/sick leave, retirement plans, and access to all University facilities.
Representative responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
A Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Demonstrated knowledge of complex business operations, policies, and procedures similar to a university setting.
- Ability to understand, manipulate and extract information from databases for creation and analysis of custom financial and grant management reports.
- Experience coordinating and managing complex record keeping systems for review by independent auditors.
-Experience in working in a technical and/or research environment.
