Provide leadership and direction to technical staff in all aspects of provisioning, maintaining, and supporting the WSU data and LAN services. Oversee the system configuration, management, and data service offerings. This includes the day-to-day activities involved with scheduling, provisioning, deploying, and troubleshooting of data services, as well as, project management work in the implementation of various technology initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years professional experience, of which one (1) year must have been in a leadership role OR a combination of education and experience totaling eight (8) years from which comparable knowledge and abilities are acquired.
Experience with network problem identification, response, and correction.
Experience with billing and work-order systems.
Experience developing and applying appropriate metrics for the evaluation of the performance and reliability of the University network.
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas in a simplified way, both orally and in writing.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including ability to work as part of a team under difficult and stressful conditions.
Demonstrated technical expertise in applying network troubleshooting and diagnostic tools and techniques in a large, heterogeneous networking environment.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision.
