This open rank, tenure-track position will teach (in distance-learning programs and actual classroom) one or more of the following (undergraduate or graduate) courses: Principles of Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Marketing Research, and various marketing electives; actively involved with doctoral education; maintain an active research program targeting the field’s premier journals; make service contributions to his/her department, college, university, community, and profession; and help further the research mission of the Carson College of Business.
The term of appointment is a nine-month academic year, beginning on August 16, 2016. Normal teaching load is six hours (2 courses per semester). Rank and salary are open; benefits are competitive; the retirement system is TIAA/CREF. Initial summer research support is normally available for more junior faculty; competitive summer research grants are also normally available. In addition, the department maintains a large, multifunctional behavior lab and subject pool for research purposes.
Earned Ph.D. in Marketing or closely aligned field from a nationally or internationally recognized university by September 1, 2016. Additional qualification of at least 6 years as an Assistant Professor or equivalent is required for Associate Professor, and at least 6 years as an Associate Professor or equivalent is required for Full Professor. Demonstrated record of research published in, and current research targeted towards the field’s premier journals. Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and teaching effectiveness.
Building on the department’s reputation in Marketing and International Business, the preferred candidate must have demonstrated excellence in research related to Consumer Behavior, as well as demonstrated ability to work in an interdisciplinary fashion; capable of teaching one or more of the following (undergraduate or graduate) courses: Principles of Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Marketing Research and various marketing electives; demonstrated knowledge and excellence of teaching at the undergraduate, MBA or executive levels. Research interests need not be directly related to teaching areas.
