The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a temporary, one-year Clinical Instructor in Medical Oncology for the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at Washington State University. The position will start as soon as a qualified candidate is identified. The position will share responsibility for directing the oncology service (including case management, supervision of staff, residents and interns, coordination of the clinical and teaching service with other sections of the hospital, and interactions with referring veterinarians). The position will participate in didactic teaching and also provides an opportunity for scholarly activity in the form of independent and/or collaborative basic and/or clinical research. The Oncology service at WSU sees a high caseload with a variety of cases: about 50 % being radiation therapy cases.
The candidate must possess a DVM or equivalent degree and be board-eligible or certified in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Medical Oncology).
Preferred qualifications include board certification in ACVIM (Medical Oncology), an advanced degree, evidence of expertise in teaching, and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people in a team atmosphere.
