This position is responsible for the coordination of print and electronic publications submitted to University Publishing and provides counsel and direction for communication officers across campus to achieve communications goals. This position works with University Publishing staff regarding editing, design and publication production, hmtl emails, and web content management projects to ensure the timeline and workflow for each project are being met. This position participates in the problem solving process and is responsible for the final approval on content and graphic design for university print publications. Additionally, this position provides input to the oversight and direction for the University’s comprehensive publishing program in support of the University’s strategic goals.
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications or related field and two (2) years of professional level writing/editing experience which has included word processing computer applications and a demonstrated knowledge of graphic arts principles. A Master’s degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to (1) one year of the required experience.
Experience with print and Web production and distribution methods.
Skills in coordinating multiple projects simultaneously, problem solving, and working independently.
Skills in adapting to changing priorities.
Knowledge of marketing principles in an educational setting.
Working knowledge of creative design tools.
