Detailed Job Description

Scientific Assistant will conduct laboratory experiments and will also be involved in maintaining daily lab operations. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with other members of the lab, as well as the administration and other Research Associates in the School of Molecular Biosciences.
Responsibilities will include:
•Performing laboratory experiments using animal model.
•Discussing and presenting research results in lab
•Ordering supplies and reagents.
•Maintaining laboratory reagent stocks and strains.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate related scientific or engineering discipline and three (3) years of progressively responsible related professional research experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. A Master’s degree in an appropriate related scientific or engineering discipline may be substituted for up to one year of the required work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

A Master’s degree in genetics, cell biology, biochemistry, physiology or a related field.

Four years’ experience in scientific research.

Familiarity with mice.
