This position supports the routine maintenance and calibration program of AgWeatherNet. This position is responsible for the design, improvement and operation of the environmental sensor calibration lab. This position is a key component in the AgWeatherNet’s equipment quality control program, which includes equipment and sensor procurement, lab setup, sensor calibration, sensor performance evaluation and rotation scheduling. This position is also involved with inventory control support for AgWeatherNet and participates with routine maintenance and other duties as needed.
A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate related scientific or engineering discipline and experience performing professional-level work with scientific or engineering research protocols. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Experimental and analytical skills; understanding and knowledge of research theory; excellent organizational and project management skills.
Master’s degree in an appropriate related scientific or engineering discipline.
One (1) or more year (s) experience performing professional-level work with scientific or engineering research protocols.
Experience working with automated weather station and environmental monitoring sensors.
Experience with the calibration and evaluation of electronic equipment and sensors.
Experience working with delicate equipment.
