Position: Postdoctoral Research Associate in the College of Medical Sciences at Washington State University (WSU) Spokane. The appointment is 12 month, full time, non-tenure track with an immediate expected start date. Salary is commensurate with qualification and experience.
Description of Position:
Using Caenorhabditis elegans as a model organism, the successful applicant will join a new research program to study microbial pathogenesis, host response, molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying neuro-immune interactions during pathogen infection.
A PhD degree in a relevant field of biology with less than five years of prior postdoctoral experience.
Applicants should have a strong background in at least one of the following areas: Molecular Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, Immunology and Biochemistry. A background in neurobiology or experience with C. elegans would be an advantage. Applicants should also be creative and self-motivated, and have the ability to work independently.
