The Linux High Performance Computing Administrator will support the hardware needs of a vibrant research community at Washington State University.
The candidate will need experience with large heterogeneous supercomputing systems as well as the supporting applications that run on them; demonstrated competency in the design, building and configuration of HPC services will be a necessity; a strong commitment and understanding of change and configuration management principles; the ability to relay information and conduct briefings to non-technical researchers; provide high quality of service and 24 × 7 uptime of customer systems.
A Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years professional experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
• Experience with a variety of programming and scripting languages.
• Experience deploying software using environment modules.
• Demonstrated ability to use Torque and Moab.
• Demonstrated ability to use xCat and Puppet.
• Knowledge of C, C++, math libraries, MPI, and multicore processing.
• Experience architecting HPC systems.
• Experience working with researchers in a fast paced academic environment.
• Experience with RedHat or CentOS.
