The School of Hospitality Business Management (SHBM) at Washington State University – Tri-Cities Campus is seeking qualified applicants for full-time, tenure track teaching position to begin August 16, 2015 at the rank of assistant or associate professor, depending on qualifications. Position will be located on the Tri-Cities campus in Richland, where the HBM degree is scheduled to be offered for the first time starting fall 2015.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Teaching four (4) undergraduate courses per year in the area of hospitality business management.

• Conducting scholarly research and publication in top-tier hospitality journals.

• Serving on internal committees with other Washington State University faculty, external teaching partners, regional boards, and community entities.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in hospitality or closely related field from a nationally or internationally recognized university by employment start date.

• Three (3) years of successful, continuous hospitality industry experience at the managerial level.

• Notable record of teaching, research, and service.

• Teaching expertise in hospitality at the undergraduate level.

• For an associate professor level, in addition to the qualifications above, a demonstrated record of publications at premier research journals in the field is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Five (5) years of successful hospitality operational experience in lodging, food operations and beverage and wine management.

• Proven ability to work effectively in a collegial environment with faculty, staff, and individuals and groups from a variety of identities, cultures, backgrounds, and ideologies.
