The department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Washington State University Tri-Cities invites applications for a permanent full time non tenure track faculty position at the Clinical Assistant Professor level for the TriCities campus in Richland, Washington.
Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field prior to extending a job offer. Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Strong oral and written communication skills. Commitment to working with a diverse group of students, faculty and community partners.
Preferred qualifications: Expertise in structural mechanics and design using a variety of construction materials including: reinforced and pre-stressed concrete, timber, steel and advanced engineered cement and concrete composites. Teaching surveying, AutoCAD, and GIS applications in civil engineering. Ability to teach undergraduate transportation engineering courses. Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
Teach a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses in civil engineering and closely related fields. Collaborate with other faculty to support curriculum development, continuous improvement and accreditation of programs. Effectively advise and interact with students. Provide service to the department, campus and university.
