Job Summary
Plan, organize, and teach to promote successful student learning outcomes.

Educational Requirements*
Associate's degree required, prefer Bachelor, Masters, Doctorate degree.

Experience Requirements*
Must have a minimum of five years professional experience in the subject area of expertise.

* An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements listed above.

Key Position Information:
Basic Function:
Instruct individuals in English langue acquisition. Instructors to teach International Language classes, varies as needed.

Establish course goals for new courses OR Follow established course goals and learning outcomes for current courses
Observe and evaluate students' work to determine student progress or make suggestions for improvement
Observe college policies and procedures
Demonstrate commitment to professionalism
Be able to work effectively to meet the needs of diverse student populations

Minimum Requirements*
Master's degree in ESL/TESOL OR master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of the following subject areas is preferred (Bachelor's Degree with graduate semester hours may be accepted):

English As a Second Language/TESOL
Rhetoric and Composition
Second Language Acquisition

1 year teaching English, TESOL or ESL (either in a classroom or lab setting - higher education preferred) OR 1 year teaching in higher education TESOL (including a graduate teaching internship or practicum)
