Description of Duties:
This Procurement Specialist position is a temporary position with potential to become permanent. The person in this position will be responsible for: specifying, sourcing, bidding, analyzing, negotiating contracts and ultimately procuring goods and services for the university. With a customer service-focused approach, the Procurement Specialist serves as an intermediary between vendors, suppliers, and internal customers. This position develops and maintains on-going relationships with departments across campus; managing bid processes and contracts, providing applicable training, assisting with capital and operational budget estimates, and assisting in the implementation and compliance of campus procurement policy.

Position Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in a business related discipline, plus two to seven years business experience, higher education experience a plus, C.P.M./C.P.S.M. certification desirable. Strong demonstrated financial reporting and analytical skills. Solid project and contract management experience, ability to handle multiple tasks with varying deadlines, at least one year of supervisory experience. Attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Software Knowledge: Proficient working knowledge of Excel and all Windows based applications.

License(s) Required for the Position: Massachusetts Driver's License required.
